So I had my trailer all good to go and everything worked on the the last trip out a month or two ago ... going camping this weekend, picked up the trailer from storage, turned everything on to make sure all was well and out of nowhere the range hood light/fan will not come on and also the wall mounted water and power meter doesn't work (the one where you press the button for 12v/fresh/black water and it gives you lights to tell you what your levels are).The lights, radio, water pump switch (that's actually located on the 12v/water meter) all works.I pulled the fuses all looks fine there ... kicked the breaker and turned it back on and nothing ... tried disconnecting shore power and plugging in my truck (since i have the batteries in the garage charging) to see if it would do anything different running straight 12v and Still Nothing!?!?!?!Any suggestions on what this may be? I notice now to that the LP alarm beeps every time I unplug the shore power and beeps a whole bunch of times when I turn it back on ... kinda like it's resetting .... nothing funny other then the fact that it never did that before is all.I am not hugely worried about the 12v/water meter (though I for sure want it working if at all possible) but the wife really needs the over the range light and fan for cooking.Any help here would be greatly appreciated guys! :)Thanks so much. -Chris

Sounds like you have some loose connections. Have you tried putting the batteries back in place?

It must be a simple power or connection issue. I was thinking maybe part of the rig has a wire connection at the battery terminals and that may have loosened or not be connected when the batteries were removed. A beeping LP alarm usually means a lack of 12v power. It's also possible that the converter is not supplying power to the different 12v circuits and that the lights and various 12v devices are getting just enough power from the truck connection. I would definitely replace the batteries and see what happens. Do you have a meter so that you can troubleshoot the electrical system, should that be necessary?

Do you have a meter so that you can troubleshoot the electrical system, should that be necessary?I will know more tomorrow night when I put the batteries back on.I do have a multi-meter but it's hard to find a ground to test 12v on the range ... plus the wires are stuck up in the cabinet and have a wire nut on it that's so big I can;t get it out! LOLHopefully reconnecting the batteries fixes things ... I will follow up tomorrow if this does not work.Not sure where I would start if it's a problem ... Knew I should have bought a newer trailer! LOLJust weird that all this worked before when I never had batteries connected to the rig ... then I bought new batteries right before we went camping a month or more ago and when I got done camping and parked in storage I disconnected the ground wire so nothing was being powered in the rig while stored.Then got it home took out the batteries hooked up shore power and all is fine except for these two things .... Just WEird!!!

Yep, electrical wierdness is fairly prevalent. I'm thinking the battery reconnection may solve all but, if not, it should be easy to find the issues. If you just bought a used rig, there is a good chance that it sat unused for awhile. That is a perfect opportunity for Mr. Oxidation to set up residence in switches and connections. One of the first measurements I'd be taking is if there is power to the range hood switches and the water meter location. If power is present, a flip of the switch should show power on the other side of the switch. If power is present on the device side of the switch, there may be an issue with the device (fan) connection or the device itself. If there is a faulty switch, I try to deoxidize the switch internals with Caig Deoxit spray. That is the last effort before replacing the switch. Sorry, you may know all about troubleshooting and the above is just blathering. I need to correct for my coffee buzz.
