AC stopped working

Need help. I have a 2015 Starcraft Travel Trailer BHS 309. It has one ac unit above kitchen area. Have had ac issues in the past. A month ago stopped working, took in for repair and ended up being a loose wire. Took it Camping last week. Ac water canals evidently blocked (again) and water dripped in thru ac unit. Caught with bucket. But ac worked. Planned to clean out when got home. When did arrive home ac wound not come on at all. Opened thermostat area looking for loose wire. Nothing found. All breakers fine.
Took picture of fuse area as one in seemingly unrelated area causing light bulb to illuminate. Have searched & searched to find out why this light on & what it means, without success. Need ac to work. Tried to nclude picture, haven’t figured that out yet. Help!

  • Check your breaker, manually trip it and reset, sometimes breakers trip without forcing the face portion over enough to look like it's tripped.
  • I reckon we need the AC model number along with the number for the thermostat to help once the simple stuff is researched. Some of the newer Dometic units have a serial data interface to the thermostat rather than one wired more like a home unit. You may need an RV tech if this is new to you.

I am curious about the fuse light that is lit. That would indicate there is a load attached if the fuse were installed. Is it not labeled?
  • The AC should work off 120V shore power so look for a tripped breaker rather than a fuse.
  • I understand that a normal fuse light situation but where there’s a light there is no fuse. The fuses for the AC have not been tripped or blown. That is why am confused.
  • As for water leaking inside, I had this happen also. Got some spray coil cleaner, got on top, remove the cover and cleaned the coil. Over a couple years now, with no more problems.
  • A fuse with a light illuminated next to it means that fuse is blown. The wall thermostat needs 12v power to work. Replace that fuse and try the AC again.
