Checked out Mama Gerties and it looks great! Love the pictures and it is close enough for a weekend visit. It will mostly be DH, myself and our DD, is she is not working.
We would like to be less than 2 to 3 hours from Johnson City/Kingsport, TN. DH's employer is permanently shutting it's doors next week and we are going to use this time to check out new places to live and work. And we thought that staying at campgrounds would be our best option..
As far as amenities goes, we don't need a pool or playground, no grandbabies on these trips. Level lot with water and electric are the most important. WIFI would be awesome but not a necessity. We don't use cable at home and wouldn't use it camping. We both love small towns and tend to shy away from touristy places.
We visited Maggie Valley Ghost Town In the Sky a couple years ago and liked it. May have to check out the RV Resort there.
