If your RV is heavy ie 14K plus you will not be able to lock the tires unless you are on gravel. I have disk brakes on mine and cannot slide the tires but in an emergency stop I have plenty of brake.

I have had two 5ers 14K plus with different brake controllers and could not slide the tires on either one. Don't let that be your only determining factor on your brakes working properly.
