My observation coming from having a really old camper is that the space between the door and any ladder will determine how much of which brand of awning one can accommodate. That and the space available between the top of the door, clearance lights and the top of your roof and roof rack. Carefree of Colorado seems to have the largest selection. In my case I've been building my own to fit my circumstance and size available with the help of our local welder. Granted, it won't be the super convenient auto roll up version but it will fit, do the job required and at a reasonable cost. The bulky arm size added more width between my door frame and ladder than I had available hence the DIY route. The arms as on the Carefree Freedom would work but those aren't available with a roller tube short enough, and the over the door type with totally Folding arms and no side support arms don't extend far enough to be much use for the money it takes to buy them. We're still fabing and actually building next week some time. Might end up being a viable duplicatable DIY design that would work for others with a similar issue. Maybe not.
