My camper does have a license plate holder, but an officer sitting in his car behind me can easily see the license on the truck. Standing behind the camper, not so much. My last trip was the first time I moved the plate to the camper and that's the only trip I've ever been pulled over. It was for something unrelated and I suspect it was just Kansas police spot checking traffic coming out of Colorado late at night. I mean, if my tires did cross the white line it was probably while I was checking the mirrors for the car I thought was passing me a few moments ago. Anyway, when the officer was finished and about to leave he asked if I had any questions so I asked if moving the plate to the camper was the right thing to do, since it's technically cargo and not part of the vehicle. His answer was a somewhat ambiguous "probably." I'll probably continue to move it since the camper does have the mount already but if your plate, like mine, is visible from someone sitting in a car behind you while attached to the truck and the camper doesn't have any plate attachment hardware, I don't think I'd turn it into a project.
