Same here in Oregon, the truck has a plate and so does the camper.
Just like boats and utility trailers over a certain weight.
We did a Redwoods trip in CA but didn't think about what CA requires so this is a good topic.
Now I'm curious how the neighbor states deal with this, it would seem you need to be regulated for the state you're licensed in unless you're moving to the state you're visiting?
Thoughts, other experiences?

My camper has a separate license, required in Washington state. I would not worry about "Podunk Idaho" stopping you. Out west people are a lot more reasonable, especially in Idaho.
