In Florida there is no separate plate for a TC. The truck's tag must be visible. That said, I rarely move mine as I would rather be stopped for an obscured tag, that no tag at all forgetting to move it when I take the camper off at some far away location. I have done that more than once.
In Florida ANY duplication of a tag to put on the camper is illegal.
I was pulled over last year for another issue and the trooper brought up the tag not visible. We had a polite discussion on why I don't move it. He understood my theory, but issued me a written warning. I asked if I needed to move the tag right them and he said no the warning would be sufficient until I got home.
That was the first time in 11 years that the tag was an issue.
One final note. In 2010, we went up through New England and I DID move the tag. I understand they have no sense of humor in some of those states.
