Let me ask this question; "Why do you have tail lights on the back of your Cargo (camper)?"
I will answer it for you. "Because the camper obstructs your taillights on the back of your truck. "The cargo."
So in a big picture way of looking at it, the tail lights have been moved to the farthest point of the vehicle and place on your, "cargo." Possibly the License plate might be extended the same logic?
BOOM.
