My first search shows $19,900 here: http://www.rvtrader.com/dealers/Stoltzfus-RVs-Inc-2851300/listing/2013-Dutchmen-Rv-Kodiak-291RESL-115044930
When we purchased ours it was at an RV show and we agreed on a price. Since the trailer would take a few weeks for delivery, I had time to do some research. Once the dealer called and told me that we'd have to re-sign paperwork since the dates had changed, I knew my research would have a chance to pay off. I sent an email to my sales rep with about 15 listings from other dealerships for the same RV and the price being lower. Then I told them we need to agree to a better number or we'd just go elsewhere and they accommodated. In the end, many RV dealers are very flexible just to get another unit off the lot.
In cars, I always buys slightly used. With RVs, I prefer to buy new simply for the peace of mind of knowing that I'm the only one thats ever lived in it and maintained it. I'm sure if I moved up to a motorhome I'd consider used just to save a lot of money, but for trailers I think it's worth it to go new if you plan to use it a lot or for a long time. Just make sure you get a good deal, which is usually 30% or more off MSRP.
