Rear view camera

Hi, I pull a utility trailer behind my truck camper with my ATV and other gear. Am always nervous about it as I can't see it. So I'm wanting to install a remote camera on the back of my truck camper to keep an eye on my load. Would appreciate some recommendations on cameras that won't break my budget. Thank you!!!
  • We had a factory installed unit from Voyager in our 15 Lance, worked great. But when I tried to replace the camera to install on our new Lance (lost our other one in a shop fire) I couldn't get one obsolete already, right! Could have bought a re-conditioned one for about 4-500 as I recall.I wasn't about to give them anymore of my money (plus they never ever replied to my emails) so I figured the heck with them!
So I did some checking & ended up having a Furrion (spelling ??) system installed for about 400 complete.
They pulled the power off the rear top clearance light for the camera, ( which only works with the lights on, no big deal for us as I drive with lights on especially if I'm towing & need the camera. Besides this serves at on-off switch as our replacement Lance wasn't wired for a camera from the factory.

The tech hid the wire from the light by going drilling behind the light & fishing the wire back out behind the camera, looks totally factory a very nice install!

Anyway this worked for my situation, good luck
  • Ebay is full of less than $100 cameras. Will take some time to get them from China.
I have 2 rear cameras on my Ford. Reinstalled tailgate camera on my camper and it works well, but .... Ford activate tailgate and cargo cameras only when truck is on reverse and will turn them off when in motion.
