Rear View Mirror Replacement

Pardon the ignorance of a near future camper owner. But obviously the cab rear view mirror is useless with a truck camper. Is there a product that replaces the mirror or attaches to the mirror that uses cameras to work functionally similar to having a mirror? Are they commonly used?

I can only imagine that after forty year of driving, and as someone that is somewhat compulsive about watching what's happening behind me, that I will look up many times to see only a camper wall before getting used to using only side mirrors.
  • I do see many dash cameras used in Class A's and Class C's, and I suppose I could jerry rig it to the mirror, but specifically a product that clips onto the mirror and clips off when camperless, I was unable to find. It seems like a product that would be available, but maybe not.
  • You could place cameras on each side of the truck and a video monitor where the rearview mirror is and it would provide a more appropriate view for safety.

There are kits on the market for this type of setup.
