Personally, I always thought having a fiberglass propane cylinder was a bad idea, given the pressures at work inside your average bottle.
I'm amazed that the concept was ever DOT certified, especially given that the Lite Cylinder line uses a two part body for the cylinder.
As I recall, they had a much shorter window between requiring inspections, compared to their steel counterparts.
If one wanted a measure of remaining propane, Manchester makes a SureFlame (I think that's the name) series of steel vertical bottles with an internal gauge that has a display up by the valve, and they cost alot less than their fiberglass counterparts.
