Meh......I have very little for brand loyalties so this is not a jab at Ford....I see it as a situation where a MFR is trying to look like extra good guys by jumping right onto fixing a problem when that fault really effects nothing because it is nothing more than a software issue...I mean, really? The R and D indicator light lags when you shift? I bet a lot of people wouldn't even notice.....they are fixing it fast because it's a very simple fix that costs nearly nothing to do....
