2015 Ram/Cummins emissions recall

I had the one for the catalytic converter a year ago. I got a DEF message and also a warning that the engine would be de-rated in 120 miles. Warranty covered this, which I think was around $2500-$3000 if not warrantied. I also received a rental since I was over 120 miles from home and they kept it a week to get parts.

I also have the restraint control module notice, but haven't fixed this yet.

I haven't noticed any change in MPG, but can't say I've really checked.

For any update that comes around, someone has to claim it cut fuel efficiency or power.
Repeated dydno tests show it just isn't true.
I wouldn't worry about it and get it done.

I'm fairly certain that the DPF recall was completed on my truck earlier this year when I took it in for a DEF engine code. I've noticed no real change in drivability or fuel economy.

Last year I got codes for 'insufficient catalyst'. I had recently topped off the DEF tank with cheap stuff. I later pumped out the tank and refilled with Peak Blue DEF. I never had another code after that but received my recall notice this spring. Had mine done earlier this year and was told there was a minor configuration change to the SCR unit and they also removed one of the sensors.

I think my mileage might be a little better now but I don't have accurate logs to say for certain.

Thanks guys, I just skimmed through a quick Google yesterday and info was scattered all over the place. I hadn't even heard about the recall until yesterday. Can someone tell me exactly what is wrong with the CC that's on it now? Is it just a government regulation thing or what ?

We got the light in ours...
Dealer did a flash, waiting for parts (a few months ago)
MPG went down 2-3 mpg towing our 14k GN trailer, from ~14 to about 11...
DPF usage went way up...

I had the SCR recall done on my truck sometime earlier in the year, maybe late spring. I didn't have any lights or other symptoms and haven't noticed any change in DEF usage or mileage after the recall was done. I don't pay real close attention to that stuff but if there was a significant change I would notice.

Your 2500 should have been done months ago. You might want to check your contact info with RAM/FCA. They are now starting to do the 3500's, got mine done a month ago before receiving any notification. Just saw on RAMTrucks owners site that parts were available for my vin, stopped by dealer and made appointment. Should be one day job, but they had my truck for two days. Gave me a rental according to my Maxcare contract.

I actually think my mileage improved, and though it had been going down for 6 months before the recall. One guy on TDR site posted a picture of a big wad of something that was in the DPF. Chris

Had mine done last fall. The seat belt recall was done last month during an oil change service

weird...I had no idea the recall had anything to do with the DPF??

The recall is for the SCR, remove a sensor and reflash. So why were they looking ahead of the DPF on that truck? or was that in the SCR?
