If you're really wanting to do this, I'd look into a pickup truck. Crew cabs work well for families. Ext cabs for little ones works well. We were in your shoes back in the previous century. I bought an F150 and an Aljo 1850 Deluxe TT. Our girls slept on the dinette bed. Never a problem. I've never owned or wanted a bunk house. Much prefer a hide a bed couch and dinette to use for extra beds. Good a/c air flow and keeps the TV in view.
