Your TV and DVD player should be DC powered. All electronic devices are DC powered but they convert AC to DC either with their wall wart or in their internal power supply.
If your DVD player has an AC wall wart, it is easy to buy a DC power supply for it. I had to do this for a blue ray player last year.
