Recommendations on a Ford Dealer

Decided on a F250 for towing our fiver. Got together a list of the equipment and colors desired. Checked with 3 large Ford dealers in our area and apparently not one of them is interested in ordering this truck. I will not take just anything they happen to have on the lot and spend additional money to make it work for me. I don't have any issue travelling to get a truck built the way I want it. It's pretty discouraging when looking at $55,000 vehicle, the local dealers don't want to move off their backside.
  • Call the Ford Regional Manager... He can offer a dealer that will talk to you.

    or Ford directly..

on average the price difference between an F 250 and F 350 is 1500 dollars.
check the Ford Truck Forum.... http://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/index.php

if going for 2017 .. the F 250 will not share the same transmission as the F 350. maybe.

Never even got that far in the process with any of them. They want to sell me what they have on the lot. And I went through the Ford "Build your Truck" site to option on what I wanted. The site won't let you pick incompatable options. So that's not the issue. It's the attitude of a wanting to do a quick sale with what they have sitting on their blacktop. I can guess that maybe the salesperson is afraid they'd have to wait 12 weeks for the commission check to be cut on a factory order and by then, many will be selling refrigerators at Best Buy and couches at Rooms to Go.

And that site will also let you "find" the truck you specified or others very similar at dealers in your area. Did you try that?

  • If none of three wont take your order, then something is wrong with your order.

Maybe you should list what you want and someone here may point out what's wrong and the reason why they wont order it. It just seems odd that all three of them will not do it.
  • Can't help you with a dealer recommendation... I have always custom ordered and has never had a problem if I was willing to wait.

But, think about a 350 (1 ton) instead for you 5th wheel.

    Good luck with your purchase.
