atries ever weigh that trail sport. My bh htt is 3400lb published dry and no way i hell would i ever attempt it with a 3500lb rated people mover.
Yes, I have. It weighs 3400 fully loaded for a 2 week vacation (one week worth of clothing), including the hitch.
Not all HTT with this floor plan have the same starting weight (for instance, the Trail Cruiser model of the same year weighs ~150 lbs more, and if I recall right Roo's version of this floorplan weighed almost 3500 dry), and I made it lighter by removing the AC and microwave. Even so it's pushing it, so I keep it light by using backpacking cookware and dinnerware (we're backpackers so we already have this and are used to using it), fleece blankets (much lighter than cotton), don't carry much food at all - we buy that at our destination and only buy what we need, use aluminum-framed folding chairs (weigh less than the usual steel-framed sort), etc .... I weigh everything that goes into the trailer, and nothing new is allowed to go in unless something of the same weight or greater comes out.
The heaviest single items in there are the toolbox (~20 lbs) and the camp stove (~7 lbs). The only thing that ends up varying in weight (aside from propane) from one trip to the next is clothing.
I'm not necessarily recommending others do the same - see previous comment about sticking more towards the 2700 lbs end of things if you don't want to be bothered with weighing stuff all the time - but do know others that do this too.
