NO and NO!
Get a truck that can handle the load or RV that will work with your truck.
Do you mind me asking why you say this? If I put no more than 1,000 lbs in the Redwood for example, that would put me "around" 16,000 lbs. Please help me understand why thats not viable?
You will be at or over your rear tire ratings. As I said before the "DRY" weights are a mythical number, unless you have it on a CAT Scale and know the numbers for a FACT you really don't know.
You could easily have up to 4K pin at 25 percent of 16K, that is "IF" it really weighs 16K loaded.
MOST of the weight loaded in a 5er is in front of the axles and then most of that weight transfers to the truck.
My question is why not buy a RV that will fit within your trucks ratings or get e bigger truck.
Sure the truck and RV will go down the road but what about when someone pulls in front of you or a big gust of wind hits you on a down hill grade??? These are times that you need the proper truck.
You really have no idea how much weight gets added unless you weigh every item. To be honest I can't figure out how I have added 4,500# to ours but the numbers don't lie.
To anothers comment I do run full RAWR but I have another 2K or so reserve in tire capacity left.
I know what it's like to be running a SRW at it's max and having a gust of wind hit me on a down hill grade on a sweeping curve, NOT fun.
