I went by the Wheel/Tire shop this morning. To upgrade to 4,000 lb wheels and tires - we're talking minimum $5,000 all said and done... Not sure I'm feeling that...
Would cost the same to trade for a 2017 Ford F350.. Max 5th wheel towing of 21,500 lbs and Payload capacity of 4,320.
I think the max RAWR on the 2017 SRW F350 in the 7200 lb range which would be your limiting factor with a fifth wheel type trailer regardless of the tow rating, so it wouldn't really give you that much extra capacity over what you already own (again with regard to this type of trailer - a cargo trailer would afford more flexibility in how you load it that could enable you to exploit the higher tow rating).
If you're considering trading in for a new truck I'd definitely buy the trailer first so you can load it and hit the scales to see what you need. It would be dumb to trade for another SRW truck only to find that you really needed to trade for a DRW...or to find out you didn't need to trade in the first place.
