What do most RVers do....keep the reefer cold between trips or turn it off and empty all the beer and condiments out until the next trip and turn the reefer back on?

Empty between trips and turn reefer off. But I guess that depends on how often you go out.

We frequently use / work on our TT when it's parked at home so I normally keep it stocked with beverages and keep it on (during camping months).

Before I started full-time I always left it on.

We go out every 3-4 weeks starting in May. We turn it off, wipe it down and leave it open between trips. The frig looks and smells new.

We have left it on. Keeping it on keeps or at least reduces rust on the outside of the cooling unit.I give it a good cleaning before every trip.

I always make sure I have a few beers left over to consume while unloading after the trip. Ours also gets turned off and cleaned out.

I'm just a weekend camper. I come home on Sunday afternoon unload the fridge and shut it off. I then prop the door open and wipe it down Monday after the frost has melted. Thursday evening I turn it back on. Friday morning I put stuff in it. Friday after work I hook up and go. Sometimes I haul it to work with me and take it to a campground from there.

Depending on my plan for the weekend I may not turn it back on until Friday morning. Then I put stuff back into it Friday after work and head out.

Good opinion on both sides of this burning issue. :)

I've never used this camper for camping, yet...so I'll reserve my decision until I get back from my first trip.

We generally leave the trailer plugged in and refrigerator on between trips. We don't like taking things out of trailer that we are going to have to put back in for next trip... try to make it easy to just restock, load our clothes and go, less work each trip makes for more enjoyment. My Dad used to clean his frig after every trip and we talked him into keeping it plugged in (at our house) and just restocking. He enjoys going out more now since it is less work (he is 86).

If we have a month or longer gap between trips we empty it and clean, otherwise we leave it stocked and on ready for the next adventure.

If we are home for more than a week I shut it down and empty perishables. I just figure a fridge ha so many working hours in it's life so I conserve. And my unit is 15 years old. Cost of a new fridge scares me to be honest
