This is exactly what you have been paying in NV, you just don't remember what you paid when your truck was new?
I put a link above to NV fees "based on MSRP of $20k".
The only difference I see is that CA suppose to adjust the fees with actuall car values, when NV has them drop by the time.

Bottom line, it comes cheap in both states when you are driving 9 yo or older and not using vehicle commercially.
Side question >> have you ever wonder why so many commuting cars in Las Vegas have California registration?
