I have no extra for hurricane insurance. I'm not in the coastal windstorm coverage area. Just regular homeowners. It is maxxed out coverage with some designated extras; not a bare bones policy. I assume insurance is a bit higher in this area because of recent storms though.
edit add: I guess people stay where they are for a variety of reasons. I stayed with one employer 40 years. Oil company. But I'm a sentimental old fool any way. I'm a native Houstonian, and my ancestors were very early settlers. 1819. My 4th great grandfather was, at age 74, supposedly the oldest soldier at the Battle of San Jacinto in 1836. My cousin was in the group of 5 men that captured Santa Anna. I can't leave here.
