registration woes with new truck

If you can get a three month extension from Indiana for your plates you might be able to make it work. Or, if Douglas has a pickup truck bed taken off another Ram when they were building an aftermarket body for somebody else they could temporarily put on the truck to get it registered. Or maybe Douglas can provide some documentation to take to DMV as they surely have been through this before with customers. For sure I would keep the credit union appraised of how you are diligently working on a solution for permanent registration. I would even try a different DMV office and see if you get the same response.
