We went from a 5er back to a TT. For me the TT is easier all the way around and tracks directly behind the TV and is easier to back in. We also like to use the pick-up bed for other things and to carry a lot of our supplies there like chairs, grille, compressor, generator, tools, levelling boards,tables, cables etc. We purchase an Open Range 2012 Open Range 316 RLS TT and it is exactly the same floorplan and space as the 316 RLS 5er but with no upper portion or stairs. Person preference for us is TT. Nothing wrong with 5ers just not for us.
