We looked at fifth wheels, for about a milisecond. My father-in-law has one. Bought a 35' TT (13 Keystone Passport 3180RE). #1 We can still haul a lot of stuff in the truck, #2 we don't have to climb stairs to get to the Master Bed Room and #3 We have more useable space than a 5th wheel as don't have the "cut-out" for the kingpin. Also #4 the trailer isn't as high as the comperable 5th wheelers and #5 we don't have to worry about stowing (or storing) the hitchplate when we aren't towing.
