I tow heavy outside of camping, I prefer towing a 5th wheel trailer as it is easier on the truck and more stable.
I camp with a TT because I like the lower height overall, the lower step-in height, and I use the bed of the truck for bikes. I can load a canoe on the truck roof without a far-forward rack because of clearance to a 5er.
The only thing I would really like about a 5er for camping is the ability to get more / equal space inside the trailer with a much shorter overall length compared to a TT. For the same size trailer, it is about 6 feet shorter when connected to the truck and about 4 feet shorter when stored (no tongue)
