We have a TT, about 35' hitch to bumper. I agree about the stairs, DW has problems with that. I also like my truck bed clear...have a cover on it so can keep lots of stuff there. I have a PP3 hitch, so pulls much like a 5th wheel. Can back it anywhere without problems, and I think have just as much room inside as a comparable 5th wheeler. (have two opposing slides....so BIG living room!) Don't think I would go for the 5er, except that it is a bit shorter strung out behind, but sofar that's not a problem. Each to his own, and I certainly understand why some folks really like their 5ers.
