I love me some old school muscle, there's something very visceral about them.
I had a 1980 Camaro Z28 (sold this summer) that was rid of all pollution control and have a very healthy 355 SBC with a built TH350 - basically drives the same as a nova or early Camaro as the platform dated back to the mid 60's.
"felt" faster then it was in so many ways from the rumble, exhaust note and the rush of low end torque.
most of the muscle cars felt a lot faster then they where because they had no brakes, no traction and all that low end torque. Tha being said, i'm building a 37 Plymouth street rod with purely old school feel with a built for torque 318 and 3 speed auto.
I've got a garage full of modern muscle that pretty much will embarrass most of the top muscle/pony cars of back in the day as far as actual numbers go.
