I have those type battery boxes with the snorkel vent. I used a sniffer and those boxes don't vent with a darn. So I put a fan on the vent and that did the trick. I found a tiny fan that fit inside the tube part. I have two battery boxes. One box connects to the other. Each has a vent. The fan pulls air from the first box, connected to the second box which draws in fresh air. My fan has been running for well over a year now, 24/7. I have solar on the camper, so no worries about power draw.
