- BedlamModeratorWhy not lay on the tray and roll yourself in? My shoulders are too wide to lay square on my side, but I can lay on my back or stomach to reach everything. I haven't tried to remove mine.

Are you serious? Assuming you are, even if the op could fit, the walls of the tray would limit if not, eliminate access. ?? - BedlamModeratorThe tray sides are low:
All the wiring is on the upper side of the left wall:
The height inside clears a 5-gallon bucket through the opening: - work2muchExplorer

I considered that but it really cuts down on the height. I also need to remove the back panel to access the grey tank to install a better tank monitoring system. I am going to be in there a few times to run wire for inverter/battery monitor. It really needs to come out.
I figured out how the tray stops coming out and lever mechanism that must be for releasing the tray but depressing it as far a s I can still won't allow the tray to come out. Very awkward. Hoping I am missing something obvious or a trick. Looking online at manufacturers website they don't provide the info. Left them a message.
I noticed on the long thread zb39 started a fellow member showed some pictures of installing the see level tank monitor and had the tray out. Left him a PM.
Thanks - skyhammerExplorerI took my tray out and threw it away. It seemed as though nearly everything I wanted to put in tray was wider than the tray. The tray took up valuable space. I also found the same issue with the pickup bed trays.
Oh, and the walls of the tray are less than 1" high. - work2muchExplorer

Can you describe how you removed it?
Just measured ours is 3" deep. Maybe they used a different tray back in 2011? - 1handyhubbyExplorerCan’t help you with the removal but I can tell you I’ve been in the tray several times and rolled myself in and out to work on several issues including the removal of the back wall to access grey water tank for repair. Everyone has different needs but I find the tray very useful. Good luck with the removal.
- mike_kellieExplorer III use the tray as a creeper being careful not to roll pass the point of engaging the locks. I have removed the panel in front of the grey tank to find a plumbing leak, installed the invertor there in the basement relocating it from above the fireplace. Most recently, I had to sync the emergency jack controller to the mother board tumbling some codes. I'm 6'3" and 250 and no problems.
- work2muchExplorerOK, Host got back to me first thing after the weekend. If anyone is interested there are a couple rivets to drill out that can be replaced by bolts. I ended up just laying in the tray as Bedlam, mike/kellie and handyhubby suggested and that worked out fine (although definitely tight for me)
