The slide units look to offer more room for sure, but I don't like the step-up to the dinette with a slide. Life is always a compromise.

Was just looking at it quickly over the weekend, I think the hot water heater comes out pretty easy & everything else isn't to bad. Besides if I only loosen the metal up to the side window & hold it away a bit as I repair the wood with epoxy & new materials. This may not be so bad after all, I would also reinforce this whole area as much as possible!.
Maybe for now I would just keep the old gal, as I don't have a whole lot of time to use anyway the way things are going! When one thinks about things logically $35k-40k is a lot bucks just to get a slide & more headroom! Other than this she's in good shape & everything still works (except the AC) but don't use it anyway. If I ever headed South & would install one of those Coleman AC'S Anyway thanks for the suggestions! I guess I'm going to repair it!

I'm a do-it-yourselfer. There are a lot of us out there that would rather buy it at a good price and repair it.

Also, time is short. Unless you just enjoy fixing things (some of us do), sell it get the one you want and enjoy using it.

I wanted to build my own but the wife said "NO", she wanted to enjoy using it not building it. Guess who won?? (She was "probably" right)

You have stated that you do not want to spend the time to do the repair yourself so that leaves you with two options. First is to pay to have a Lance dealer do the repair. Second is to discount the camper price so someone who has the time and tools and skill can do the repair themselves.

I would pay a dealer to do the repair and then sell the camper if I wanted to sell it as quickly as possible. Far fewer people are going to want to buy a camper and then have it sit in their yard while they repair the damage and they would need to wait for warmer weather to even start the work.

Check online for what campers like yours have sold for in the past couple of years and I would expect that it is less than $6,000 and then you need to subtract the $1000 or greater cost for the repairs and the unknown time and cost for a buyer and sell it for $3,000. The buyer is taking a big risk as to the amount of damage that is inside the camper and what it will take to make a lasting repair.

Your camper will appeal to a very small portion of the local population and with less demand the probable selling price needs to be reduced if you want to sell the camper in a reasonable amount of time. When I was looking for a used camper the same model and year in a remote area that was several hundred miles from a major metro area would take 6 months or more to sell whereas the same camper in metro area might sell in a couple days.

Without seeing pictures of the Lance, it would be hard to say for sure what it's worth. Not every used Lance is worth $5-7,000

I guess it would depend on what shape the camper is in. If it is good shape I believe it will be easier to sell if it is repaired compared to sold as is with the damage disclosed. The difference is someone can buy it and use it. Not everybody will feel they can fix it and you will lose out on those buyers.

How much more you will get for it I will not speculate.

Of course I'm going to disclose the damage to a perspective buyer! That wasn't the real question. It was whether I fix it or sell as is with the price reflecting the damage. Besides anybody checking it out closely would see the deformed trim piece, etc.

Disclose the damage X3. It's the right thing to do!

I would never hide or fail to tell a perspective buyer about what I know is wrong/broken with anything I'm selling. If I can promote all the good things, why shouldn't I also tell about the bad things? Honesty is NOT a myth, it's always telling the real truths and facts as is best known! Even had the same persons purchase more than one used item from us and actually said they have learned to trust me or us. Sure does make me feel good and sleep well knowing that I've never knowingly cheated another person...
