Replace awning fabric with??

My new to me Bigfoot needs new awning fabric. Both the rear awning and side awning are Dometic. Is there any material to stay away from, or anything that is slam dunk "get this"?
Is this a 1 man DIY? I watched a YouTube on how to do it. Doesn't look too bad if I can get junior to help.
  • Following, tore mine... back Carefree awning... need to replace too..
  • There are some super cheap replacement fabrics on fleabay. I bought one and it lets a stupid amount of sun and heat through. You want to avoid those.
  • I replaced my main awning and three window awnings with the acrylic fabric instead of the vinyl and we were very happy with that choice. No odor and easy to clean
  • I intend to use Sunbrella on mine, but haven't made it yet. Sunbrella will likely outlast the camper.
  • Helped a buddy replace the fabric in the awnings on his Class A this summer. Ordered replacement fabric from Tough Top Awnings -- http://toughtopawnings.com/
The fabric was a much higher quality than what was originally installed. They also have some great videos on the site showing how to measure, order, and replace the fabric.

Not associated with them in any manner, just passing along the good quality of the fabric we git from them. That's my 2 cents worth :-)
