2010 doesn't seem very old and the oven isn't a real complex device. It sure seems like there would be a way to fix it. Do you know the model number and perhaps serial number? They may not make the gas valve or whatever it needs but you may be able to find new old stock at other sources.
I thought I could find one cheaper than 600 but that doesn't seem too bad of price.
