If you want a solar charger under $100, look for a Coleman 18W with charge controller. It may not charge while under heavy load, but if you have a light load on it will maintain charge levels. I use on on my RC trailer. I have an AGM Deep Cycle running a 1200Watt Inverter, and LED strip lighting. During a sunny day it will top off the battery, and under a light load where I had my Lipo charger charging up some RX batteries, it maintain 12.5 volts. It cost me $82 on sale. After you replace all the interior lighting with LED, it may be able to maintain voltage with a couple lights going, though it would be day time, so why you would need lights on......
Thank you for the recommendation!
Save your money, don't buy a 18W solar panel.
18W will barely be enough to overcome the internal battery discharge loss. It is nothing more than a TOY.
Put it another way, 18W is about 1.5A MAX at full sun, you might get an average of FIVE HRS of full sun.. That means you get about 7.5 Ahrs of full sun charging!
A group 24 battery only gives you 80 Ahr of capacity.. and of that you don't want to use half of that.. 7.5 Ahr of charge is a drop in the bucket IF you are lucky.
You really need 100W or more to make any real noticeable difference..
Solar is not a place to cut corners if you really want to do it right the first time.
