Get a 16x 6 to 7" wide rim, you them have a choice of three most common sizes, 235-85, 245-75 and 265-75 if you find a 7" or wider rim. Even 285-75 on wider rims is an option.
Those would be my choices on any brand 8 lug 25/35 sw truck of that vintage. I do personally prefer the 265s. You can get away with 8 ply in that size, will carry 3000 lbs as well or better than 10pky 235 or 245 tires.
