Replacing awning gas shocks
I would like to know if when changing the gas shocks on my awning should I support the awning end that I am working on before removing the shock

I just replaced one of the brackets in mine and if you open the awning and support it (I use bungees tied to a 12" ladder) take all the pressure of the strut (shock)
