May seem simple. The YouTube videos out there make it seem so.Need to know what materials to start scraping together. I'd like to reseal the roof and there is also about a 6" year in the roof that I got through the winter with by having my glass buddy put some kind of caulk into. Need to know what to get to fix that tear. I assume it's a rubber roof. Very tacky kind of vinyl???I'm hoping you guys can tell me what to buy, how much of it to buy, what exactly I should run a bead on, and what steps to go through. Lastly, the trim that goes around the whole camper...it has that plastic stuff that snaps over the screws to conceal them. Do you know where I can get the stuff that snaps into the trim? The camper is lacking a lot of it, and the rest of it is cracked and doesn't look great.Thanks.

Eternabond and Dicor Self Leveling Caulk for the roof.Use Dicor non-leveling caulk for vertical seams.Use the Eternabond on the tear in the rood and any seams.

It just snaps into existing aluminum channel.

Check behind the vinyl trim when you take it off. It does not prevent water from getting in around the screws. Seal up the screw penetrations with caulk before replacing the vinyl trim.

I'm in the process of resealing my TC. I am terrible at putting down a pretty bead with the caulking, I learned the ice cube trick from the TCU and its been a life saver. If you didn't already know, you can use an ice cube to spread and pretty your beads without it sticking.

Dicor Self Leveling is used on the roof around vents. Proflex or Sitkaflex is used on trim.

also purchased the eternabond from Amazon. i had to buy 50 ft. if you are around Stockton, i will give you enough for the tear. or i could mail you a ft.

Great advice from everyone, thank you.

I will start looking into getting all of these things. Any advice on how many tubes of dicor?

Also, what brought me to post this was that a while back I thought that I learned that rv places were not carrying dicor anymore. Possibly going to some other product?

I assume that if dicor is being recommended that I shouldn't have a problem finding it online at least?

I don't have close rv places to me, and it seems like every time I pass one it's closed already for the day or something.

yes the strip does come in different sizes. I used a heat gun from harbor freight, or hair dryer. it made it simple to put in. some had said to put caulking over screws

If when you pull your vinyl trim, if you find a rusty screw, unscrew it. Is it rusty it's entire length ? Now you know water has entered. This a bothersome chore, resealing your trim. . I truly believe manufactures use grey butyl tape so RVs will leak and rot, lasting just as long as your payments, so you have to buy new ones. I clean the camper and trim with solvent. I use two 3/8" beads of Proflex and #10 stainless steel round head screws to reattach. Messy and expensive, but it should outlast me.

The vinyl insert varies in thickness. The thicker stuff is very hard to get in place but looks great. My TC took almost an entire 100 ft roll. You can use a screen roller to insert it. Well, you can use your fingers but you will likely blister pretty bad ... I did and switched to the roller part way through to finish the job.
