Hey all...Just got back from camping a week ago, with our trailer plugged into our surge protector after three days we got an error message of reversed polarity and an open ground. We have done some trouble shooting on that circuit and on other circuits. Only when the trailer is plugged into the surge protector do we get the error message. Does anyone have an idea of what could be causing this?We've checked the continuity on the 30amp cable - fineTried plugging into a separate electrical service - fine until the trailer is plugged in.Thanks to all who read and answer.

Sorry, I don't have an answer, but I'm curious. Does your shore power cord have the factory end on it? Are you using any kind of adapter anywhere on the shore power?Does this happen if you plug in at home as well as at the campground?

Haven't had a problem in 18 months that way until this last week.Husband is wondering if our surge protector went bad.

Make and model of surge protector?You said you are using an extension cord, is this a standard type, then an adapter at the end to plug the 30 amp connector into?What type of receptacle are you plugging the extension cord into? Is it GFCI protected?
