For rotors, go with a known name brand (Raybestos, Wagner, Power Stop, etc.) and go with the "top of the line". For example, Raybestos make 3 different grades of rotors. Their lowest level "Professional" line are no better than any other imported rotors.
My '98 E150 would CONSUME front pads and rotors every 2-3 years even though most of the time it was driven EMPTY ! I switched to Raybestos Advanced Technology rotors and Advance Technology Ceramic pads and I am about to start year 5. Smooth braking and lots of pad left.
Bonus, one of the rotors was made in the US (!!!) and the other in Canada !!!
(Rear shoes finally disintegrated after about 15 years.)
