So you are saying. A little child runs out in front of you. You will just kill it, and drive on. And you have the nerve to tell ME to stay home. You need to get off the road. You sir are a danger to every person, ON or near the road. IF you can find park on your vehicle. You should use it. It's the big P on your shifter.
I have swerved many times to dodge things. In 40+ years of driving, and I really drive. I've towed your 4000 miles, in 7 days. Lots of stupid people have got in my way. Once even a deer ran beside the truck for a while on the BRP. People have swerved into my lane. They have almost missed the exit, and exited any way forcing the car in front of me into the guard rail, and me to swerve around it. Stuff has fallen off trucks in front of me on the Interstate, and I had to dodge it. Air bags do little good when a huge rock, or plank, comes thru the windshield.
IF you haven't had to dodge anything. You don't drive much. You should learn.

Ummm...a bit extreme I would say. While I have not towed a million miles in 40+ years! I even know not to swerve at hwy speeds!!! I have been lucky twice. First after crossing the George Washington Bridge, there was a pot hole the size of Texas, at 55mph, guess what, I tried to slow as best I could, then went along for the ride.....I would hate to have seen what happened if I swerved. Luckily wheel well damage happened. The other time was a deer....number one rule, don't swerve for them suckers, just drive on...I did not hit it.
If a kid runs in front of me, I am probably in a campground or near my house, which point, you are going to slow to swerve anyway...maybe a big lazy snake turn, but I should be able to stop almost immediately at those speeds.
Safe driving to you.
