Rockwood Owners

My wife has been looking at some Rockwood TT floor plans. I was wondering if you Rockwood owners would purchase a Rockwood again. I would like to read your comments, good or bad. We are not familiar with this brand. This will be our first TT purchase.

Thanks.
  • Our 2010 8315bss is our 2nd Rockwood and we have never had a problem with either one. We have been to the plant and watched them being built all the people we met were very committed to making a good product. They made notes on any dislikes you may have and any suggestions you may have for improvements. I keep looking at the Windjammer wondering if the V front would help with better gas mileage.
  • Our 2010 Rockwood 2604 has been great. In its 5th year of moderate use, it still looks new. I do my own routine maintenance and have slowly done many mods which make it feel like new adding the latest features. I have had to fix a handful of minor issues myself (e.g., re-caulk the shower)but it is holding up very well so far and is a good value for the price.

We have a new Rockwood Windjammer and love it. The fit and finish, and attention to detail are outstanding. The Flagstaff line is the identical trailer btw, same assembly line, just different decals.

  • You really need to do your homework and decide for your self, what your getting for your money. Pull out drawers and look behind them, stick your head in cupboards and see how their built, get up on the roof and see what the seams look like, crawl on your belly underneath and see how its welded/bolted whatever. Once you start to get dirty and look at about 15 different brands you'll then know what is good and what is only adequate, and what you're paying for.

You can ask the question you just asked of any brand and you will rarely find someone that will say they were stupid and bought a piece of junk. If they own it - they like it.

And besides that, Rockwood makes different levels of products, some better then others, and some lots better. Don't take shortcuts, get dirty and get your education the hard way. Know what your buying, before you plunk your money down.
  • We are on our second Flagstaff, which is the twin to the Rockwoods. They are built in the same plant by Forest River and differ only cosmetically and model numbers. Floor plans and construction are identical.

Our first one was a 26RKS model which we really liked. We had it 10 years before trading it in on our current model, a much larger 35' 831FLSS which we got last year.

Overall we had very little problems with the first one and none with the current model we have. Of course we have only had the current one a year but kept it at Myrtle Beach the first 6 months we had it and spent quite a few nights in it then.

We have found the Flagstaff to be of good quality construction and would not hesitate to buy another one, (or a Rockwood model) although this one will have to last a long time!:)
  • We've twice traveled extensively across the country in ours with no problems. I would not hesitate to recommend or purchase another Rockwood product.
