Is the unit ducted? Ducted units distribute the cool air better, but only if ductwork isn't leaking into the attic. You may need to look at that, and if it is ducted, tape up as much as you can. If it is not, you can fashion ducts by tacking some plastic to the ceiling from the outlet to the other end of the trailer. Most non ducted units really only recycle the air around the unit.
I converted a GMC motorhome to ducted and it made a HUGE difference. Of course, that involved dropping the ceiling a few inches and insulating it better too.
Some AC brands are better than others. I have a 15K carrier Low profile (sadly, no longer made) and it keeps my 25' TT ice cold on 100* days in the desert. I think the closest to it now is the Coleman Mach. They have a separate fan motor on the condenser coils, which always runs on high regardless of the speed of the indoor fan.
My TT is an alumabond type, 2" foam wall, not stick and tin. I think stick and tin units are harder to cool as well.
