Y'all have got some excellent eyes, can't make out what the hitch looks like from the pic.
The other thing, y'all are making assessments and have no information. Perhaps that trailer is too heavy, and perhaps it isn't. There is no way to determine that and the pic doesn't provide it.
Lastly, as BIGGYNINER has pointed out, even one of the "almighty" 3/4 ton trucks can have "mishaps" happen.
Y'all are drawing conclusions based on supposition.
Happens every time someone posts these threads here. It is after all, the Internet. ;)
Hope the owner and family fared OK........ - Campfire_TimeExplorer

Yep. You said exactly what I was thinking.
Folks, you really never know what could happen. I was once towing in pouring rain at about 45mph when my back wheels slid sideways I almost lost the trailer. It wasn't setup wrong, it wasn't an inadequate tow vehicle. Just circumstances that I wasn't expecting. Who would?T_in_Michigan wrote:
This is ridiculous to think that little Nissan is going to pull that trailer.
That's an Armada, not exactly a "little" Nissan. - westendExplorer

Could be if racing on a Lake. :B
It's fun towing on ice ain't it.
Driving to a destination carrying all the hunting gear and food supplies for a party of seven with the trailer becoming a mixmaster isn't the best.;)
We got lucky, all the guns, deer stands, propane tanks, batteries, and food were intact except for a syrup bottle that spun itself onto the countertop and leaked into the paper cups. The auxilliary 12V battery spun off the floor and landed upside down into the sink. When we opened the door after the rollover it looked like a pile of rubbish, lol.
AFAIK, this same trailer is still in use. - hddeckerExplorerIt's fun towing on ice ain't it.
- westendExplorerI've been in a trailer rollover and we landed in the same position as pictured above. The ball broke off the hitch but the safety chains held the rear axle in the air. We unbolted the safety chains, dropping the truck to the ground. Then we chained the upper axle end and pulled the trailer upright. One flat tire was changed, a new ball installed on the hitch, safety chains reattached, and we continued on our way. The travel trailer had minimal damage on the road impacted side (scratched and gouged, door handle broken, and a bit of trim bent).
Our rollover was with a 4 wheel drive F-150 and a single axle trailer. weight probably about 4K lbs. Black ice and driver reaction were the causes. - BurbManExplorer IIWhen he calls the dealer, the RV salesman will say, "I said you could pull that trailer, son, I didn't say you would be able to control it."
- nomad297ExplorerI think he just had his WD bars sprung a little too tight, putting too much weight on the front axle -- lifted the rear right up off the ground.
Bruce - hddeckerExplorerMust be a good hitch set up, it stayed hooked up.
- kodiakcanuckExplorerHey, at least he stayed upright :B
Looks like a bigger Nissan, maybe Armada, so could have a V8 and rated to tow 6000 - 8000 lbs
Thats nothing, up here gas is much more expensive and I have seen mini vans and Kia SUVs towing trailers as big as mine :E - bguyExplorerThis is divided highway so he's end around the wrong way?
Must have been quite a ride!
