I agree with the others about the door height. 14' minimum. Your wall height needs to be about 16 feet to allow for the roll up door housing if you want to clear 14'. Also you'll be more comfortable with a 12' wide door. That's what I have on mine and I'm glad I didn't go any narrower or shorter. I'll post pix when I get a chance to shoot some in the daylight.
Also, don't forget:
- 30amp and 50 amp power
- A floor drain for when you pull in when it is raining. Mine just dumps out the back of the building. Not for tank drainage.
- A stoop over the walk-through access door so you won't get wet in the rain while you figure out where your keys are.
- while you are running conduit for your power, run an extra conduit for low voltage wiring like telephone, alarm system and a coax. I use a coax in mine run from my satellite dish to keep my receiver in the 5er authorized so I don't have to wag a receiver back and forth or reauthorize it if it's been off for a while.
- gutters all the way around
- lots of 120volt outlets inside and a couple facing the outside in weather proof covers.
- I ran a pex water line to mine because it was convenient. Glad I did, I have used the heck out of that for various things. No hot water, but a hand washing sink.
- You are in a hot area like I am. I installed a thermostatically controlled power ventilator as well as a passive ridge vent. The power ventilator was installed low to keep from interfering with the ridge vent action. There is enough ventilation in the garage that I would be comfortale running a heater in the winter time in order to use the 5er as a "spare" guest bedroom.
- a workbench!
