Salem cruise lite vs Jayco jayflight

looking at these 2TT both same floor plan Jayco has a few more features but big difference in price and weight Jayco $4500 more and 700 lbs heavier. Is Jayco worth that much more? not sure how Salem/ Forestriver saves that much weight Any help
  • I cannot comment on the Forestriver since i have never owned one, but i can brag all day long about the Jayco (note my profile). The Jayflight gives u lots of bang for your buck, reason it is the #1 trailer line in North America..... plus, Jayco/Starcraft Customer Service is by far the best in the industry
  • Look at what are standard and what are options on each brand and soon you will see the Jayco is probably worth at least that much difference.. 30lb propane bottles, power tongue jack, stabilizers, 2 door fridge and full stove with oven and more are standard... and are all options that are upgrades for Cruise Lite.. also don't forget the Jayco has a 2 year warranty.

I have only had a couple of issues with my Jayco and all were brought on by my own ignorance/inattention.. and my dealer has been great to help me with my issues..
  • May I suggest you look at this video on You Tube. I don't know how to post the link but its called The Jayco-exclusive Magnum Truss Roof System

We just purchased our 3rd Jayco. Its a 2014 Jayco 266 RKS and we love it.

The support for Jayco products is also excellent.
  • You save weight be either using lighter materials that are stronger per pound; or by using less steel in the frame, thinner wood, smaller cross sections, less cupboards, etc.(use less material it weighs less).
