LOL...they aren't the only ones, try getting paid by a oil exploration or oil/gas producer in a timely fashion... I have 5 outstanding invoices that are two and three years old, they have been handed over to a collection company for $.10 cdn/$1.00, I've lost $22,000 just on the invoices alone. Oh... and these are American and Canadian companies, one of my best customers is a major Chinese oil producer they happily pay on time and well... (but its probably with American debt interest money) LMAO! :B

With the exception of MY13 I cannot think of a single year where the 2500 and 3500 had different frames. Unless you are talking about a generation change.

ib516, I don't have a "hatred" for Chrysler Corp or Dodge or Ram. I and my business employees worked with them on engineering and with a few of their Tier One suppliers on components/black box projects etc projects for 27 years in the 70's, 80.s, and 90's until I refused to continue because they were so horrible in paying their invoices in remotely acceptible timing. A line of credit is not free and the expense literally whips out the profits as after 90 days the banks will not let their line of credit be applied to such invoices. If you ran a real business you'd know exactly what it does to a supplier as it backlogs the supplier in paying their invoices too. Something never experienced with either Ford or GM. Never directly as an employee nor with Ford or GM either.

I know so well the games Chrysler played with their vehicles ratings and cutting corners etc in their vehicles and it was worse than Ford or GM by a long shot. I have first hand direct experience with all 3 manfacturers and how they did things, do you? Yup, didn't think so! Why do you think it's the Big 2 and the little taildragger that's been in deep financial trouble plus 3 times and was sold 3 times and even given to the union once and is not even an American owned corporation today? Makes their hyped trucks in Mexico for the last 15+ years and all the Hemi engines that go in them too and other Chrysler vehicles. Sure does a lot for the American and Canadian workers, doesn't it? Then to add salt into the wound, the profits go to the Italian owner master! Does that make you proud to be such a blind supporter?

You need to do some research. The manual in the Ram actually weighs around 40lbs more than the auto. Check out the base weights for the manual and auto. Unless its the Aisin.

They should be taking a average truck, off the production line if they are doing the weight themselves, or from a dealer's inventory like Consumer Reports does. Then check the weight. There, done.

I guess one problem is that Ford needs to have this weight information well before the production lines start producing the current and next model year trucks. So they do not have a production truck to weigh, for a few more weeks until production begins. So they must be using a hand manufactured truck, assembled the way the next model year truck 'should' be manufactured.

So, how much does a rear bumper weigh? According to your comment, much less than 38 lb. Maybe the rear bumper is totally weightless!! Yup, that must be it.

I very much respect your experience in the auto industry, but I have a difficult time dealing with your hatred. GM sells more than Ram, always has, probably always will. You win, so just take it easy.

I do wonder what all they do delete to get their numbers. The door sticker on my truck is a couple hundred shy from what they put on their website and my truck is basic work truck trim crank windows and all.
