There's not one manufacturer out there that hasn't had problems and recalls, and if you can't drive your car when the engine quits running, you have no business being behind the wheel. What a joke. So typical of society these days. It's never my fault, it's always someone else that's responsible for my actions. As for the advertised load ratings used for sales, that's no different than just looking at the dry weight stickers on your rv. If you don't know any better, you deserve what you get. If you are going to be within a couple hundred pounds of the max load rating, you are buying the wrong truck anyway.

It does NOT apply to the payload listed on the door sticker.
They are talking about how MAX possible payloads are estimated for a given model range. Not individual truck payloads.
As always, check the door sticker before signing.
If you are happy with the door sticker payload, then all is well.

EDIT: and whoa, more crazy b.s. than usual being slung here.

Sorry BOZO never made any parts, DUH! It also had nothing to do with parts not being to spec from the suppliers either who'd jumped ship. I know for a fact that they are not having these same issues with Ford or GM nor did I! The parts and the invoices WERE approved by Chrysler or they'd claim the invoices were lost in their system and asked them the be re-invoiced even 2 and 3 times. Several suppliers put Chrysler on C.O.D. and then later finally quit doing business with them. It was a continous ploy to avoid paying the contract invoices for as long as they could get away with it. Obviously, you don't have any knowledge about how Chrysler worked internally so it's better for you to quit making an obvious FOOL of yourself and keep your mouth and fingers silent until you do! Why does the always truth hurt so many of you diehard lack of knowledge wannabees?

Still no answers as to why Chrysler has such a terrible financial history all the way back to the 1920's a forward and been sold so many times and is such a small player constantly in their supposed part of the Big ??? Ford and GM do not have a history remotely 1/4 as dark as Chrysler and just why do you think that is? Bait and switch isn't even a halfway bit of an answer and shows how deeply hidden in the dark you pom pom boys really are blinded by your brainwashings. Some people are so easily brainwashed because perhaps they haven't been in the real world and seen the truth and facts and won't read the documented history/histories.

If it is an option on the order sheet to delete those items then that truly is the maximum payload capacity of any version of that truck available. You can then use that in advertising. That is no different than using the payload numbers for a short cab 4x2 with the v-6 in an advertisement. It is the consumers and dealers who are embarrassing. They just assume since one version of the truck has x payload capacity that their loaded crew cab 4x4 must have the same.

It is so simple, take GVWR and subtract your actual weight (not curb weight) this is your payload and actually has to be done at a scale. The advertised numbers are ideal and do not include options.

It is really a lack of education of truck buyers that leads to this since the payload of a half-ton truck can range from like 3,000 lbs down to less than 1,000 lbs if you add enough options.

Payload is the weight of the base truck subtracted from the GVWR, I always weight the truck with the tires on it! Wheels and tires are part of the curb weight and part of the GVW.
Lighter wheels and tires increase payload.
