So out of curiosity, where are the controllers in your trailer? - jmk44720ExplorerI just finally got a call back from "Mike" the Palomino tech. This guy is awesome! He told me where all the controllers are for my three slides and other great info on a fix. Thx everyone for your input on my dilemma!
- jmk44720Explorercarringb,
My stuck slide is the main large slide. I cant move it at all. - jmk44720ExplorerI'm new to this posting process so any Tech help would be great!
- wing_zealotExplorerI would suggest you have the Moderator move this to the "Tech Issues" section. There is a guy that frequents that forum, Chris Bryant, who is an RV Tech and knows a lot of stuff, he may have some suggestions of where to look or may even be familiar with your particular camper.

The wonderful local RV dealer I bought this from basically said I would have to bring it in and pay a tech to find it for me! Got to love Camping World!
That's a shame. If you click here it should take you to the supplier manuals of Lance campers. Scroll down until you see the Schwintek and you'll see the 2 PDFs associated with it. The top one will at least show you what the controller should look like. - carringbExplorerIF you can get enough leverage, you should be able to push past the stuck motor, unless it's fully seized. If it's like one of mine that failed, it shorted internally essentially making the the "brake" stay on.
FWIW the "brake" is really just electromagnetic resistance combined with mechanical advantage. So normally, when you unplug the controller, it lets the motor free-spin. Unless the motor is shorted.
My work around was let the good motor push the slide out about 8 inches until it started to bind, then hand push the stuck side. It took about 600 pounds of force of push the stuck side! (i.e. 3 strong men pushing from the outside). We'd push until it bound, then let the motor push the other end out until it bound. It was about a 10 minute process. This was on the small bedroom slide however. I don't think this would have worked on the main slide room.
I did not remove the motor because the controller said the short we in the motor control wiring, however it turned out the be an erroneous code. It was still under warranty so the dealer took care of that one. - jmk44720ExplorerThe wonderful local RV dealer I bought this from basically said I would have to bring it in and pay a tech to find it for me! - jmk44720ExplorerNothing was provided I could find in the paperwork. I actually took all the documentation provided and inserted everything into a three ring binder, nothing on the Schwintek.

Thanks for the responses. I am in a bad way at this point as my slide is in and I cant get to a couple panels that would be accessible when open. I will check behind all accessible panels and hope. I have tried calling Solaire service directly and keep leaving voicemails with a "Mike" though never get a call back.
If you haven't thought of it yet, and if you have all the original bag of paperwork they give you when you buy it new (hopefully passed down if sold used) there should be a slip of paper telling you the location of the controller. Mine was stapled to the slip of paper about the schwintek.
